DIRECTIONS
Exit airport and follow Ahukini Road toward HI-51 N
Turn right onto HI-51 N and continue 1.8 miles
Continue straight when HI-51 N becomes HI-56 N
Continue on HI-56 N for 26.2 miles.
Continue onto HI-560 W as you pass Princeville.
Drive 7.7 miles on HI-560 W through Hanalei.
After passing Hanalei Colony Resort, TURN RIGHT onto Oneone Road, and drive to the end where there is labelled parking for the Hale Makai cottages.
NOTE FOR THE DRIVE
There are four one-lane bridges along the way. The protocol is to stop at the entrance of the bridge, check for crossing traffic, allow 5-6 cars to cross before taking your turn.

VIEWPOINTS
As you dip down the road from Princeville to Hanalei keep your eyes towards the ocean, the view is breath taking. You may want to stop in the big curve on the right side, “Vista Point” for some quick photos. Just bellow, you will see the green Hanalei Valley and the beautiful Hanalei Bay with Bali Hai in the distance.
As you are leaving Hanalei, you will pass wooden bridges. As you go over the bridges, you begin to see the amazing Napali Coastline.

Haena State Park
Guests who would like to visit Haena State Park, including Ke’e beach, must make a reservation in advance and purchase a parking permit if you plan to drive. If you drive, you will need to buy both a parking and entrance pass. Reservations sell out quickly and you will not be able to enter the park without one. Reservations open 30 days in advance at midnight Kauai time.

Tunnels Beach
A secluded beach on Kauai’s North Shore, Tunnels Beach offers camping, swimming, and surfing in a beautiful coral reef setting. This beach is located about one mile west of the Hale Makai.
